Tyus Rei Malverson

April 14, 2025

On the morning of Monday, April 14, Tyus Rei Halverson of Lovelock, NV completed his 18 year mission to bring love and happiness into this world.
While Tyus’s time with us was tragically short, he managed in the time we shared with him to live a life that was filled with profound significance to all who knew him.
From Tyus’s very first day on this Earth, he demonstrated tremendous resolve in the face of unimaginable adversity.
Born with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) and numerous other associated health issues, Tyus’s life was filled with regular hospitalizations and challenges that would test even the strongest spirit. Even in the toughest of times, Tyus’s positivity never wavered.
Throughout his life, Tyus was able to brighten any room with his infectious smile, his incredible hugs or simply by giving “knucks.”
Tyus’s love of mischief and sense of humor was infectious, and his laugh was absolutely pure.
Tyus was filled with love and he loved many things in his life.
Tyus loved his cartoons and coloring. He loved pizza, gummy bears and ice cream.
Tyus loved to swing things for hours on end, from nunchucks to his trademark bright long athletic socks.
Tyus loved all things orange, from the color itself to his favorite flavor of soda.
Tyus loved our dog, and would throw Scout’s ball for him sometimes for an hour or more, long after the rest of us had “tapped out.”
Most of all though, Tyus loved his family and all of his friends.
The way he played, the way he pranked, the way he loved all of us will forever leave a Tyus shaped hole in our hearts.
Tyus is survived by his mother Monica, his father Benjamin, his sister Kaylen and his brother Jacobi.
He is also survived by all four of his grandparents, 6 uncles, 8 aunts, more cousins than one can count and an entire community that has embraced and loved him since the day we arrived nearly 7 years ago.
Services for Tyus will be held on Friday, May 2 at the LDS Chapel in Lovelock Nevada.
Public viewing for those who wish to see Tyus one final time and to say good-bye will occur from 10:00 a.m. until noon, followed by services beginning immediately thereafter.
Tyus will then be laid to rest at the Lone Mountain cemetery where he will always and forever welcome visits from all those who love him so dearly.
