Jessie Ilene (Richardson) George was born February 11, 1940 to Marion and Jessie Richardson.
She grew up in Meeker, Colorado, where she met and married the love of her life, Thomas George on June 18, 1960.
Ilene followed Tom throughout his teaching career beginning in Fairplay, Colorado, followed by Bancroft, Idaho, before settling in Winnemucca, Nevada in 1971, where they raised 5 kids and enjoyed traveling with not only their own kids, but all the FFA students that were such a large part of their lives.
Ilene stayed at home while her children were young until the youngest was in school full time.
She then went to work at Sonoma Heights Elementary until she and Tom retired together in 2002.
Ilene loved to go camping, fishing, hunting and dancing with Tom. Tom and Ilene were very active in Eastern Star and the Masons.
Ilene served many offices including Worthy Grand Matron for the state of Nevada.
During this time, they traveled often and made many friends.
As time went on, they began staying closer to home spending time with their kids and grandkids.
Ilene left us peacefully on April 12, 2025. She was with Tom which is only fitting as after 64 years of marriage they were seldom seen without each other.
Ilene was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marge Bicknell and Helen Lugenbell; brothers, Charles Richardson and Wilbur Richardson and son, Thomas Wade.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, sisters, Janet Carroll and Jean (Sam) Lockhart, and sister-in-law Lois Richardson; her children, Janice (Jeff) Alexander, Becky (Tym) George, Jon (Tina) George, and Chet(Adriane) George.
She has 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
An Eastern Star Service will be held on June 21, 2025.
In Lieu of flowers Tom is asking that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital or St. Jude’s Hospital.
