William (Bill) Edward Jensen passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, at the age of 80 in Reno, Nevada, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 16, 1944, in Westwood, California, Bill spent his youth in Redding, California.
He attended Shasta College and pursued a lifelong career as a surveyor and engineer with the Soil Conservation Service, where he shared his passion for soil preservation and made many friends, often exchanging tips on the best hunting and fishing spots.
Bill was a man of many talents and interests. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included fly tying, fishing, camping, and hunting deer and coyote.
He excelled in competition target shooting and reloading and was a skilled taxidermist and animal sculptor.
Additionally, Bill practiced calligraphy, bringing beauty and precision to everything he touched.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ida Jensen; daughters, Heather Bartels (Rich) and Christi Sanders (Jerry); grandchildren, Tristen Freeman, Kelsey Gunby, Trenton Bartels, Garrett Bartels, and Jensen Sanders; and great-grandchildren, Landon and Waylon Freeman.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Jenny Pearl Higgins; father, Edward Bernard Jensen; and brother, Eddie Rae Krueger.
As a final message to those who knew and loved him, “Keep your powder dry!”
