Marta Carr was born in Delta, CO, on April 18, 1956 to Ruben and Margaret Olvera,
She grew up in Uravan, CO, and graduated from Nucla High School in 1974.
Marta pursued her passion for anthropology at Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO, where she developed a deep love for studying ancient ruins and archaeology.
On July 1, 1978, Marta married Ed Carr in Uravan, CO.
Together they celebrated 46 years of marriage. She enjoyed four-wheeling, and was known for her warm and generous spirit.
Marta had a great love for her family and cherished the time spent with friends and co-workers.
Marta worked as an assay lab supervisor, retiring from Barrick Gold. She is survived by her husband, Ed Carr, her mother Margaret Olvera, brother Robert Olvera and wife Kelly, sister Teresa McCrory and husband Kevin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben Olvera. A service to celebrate Marta's life was held on Friday, September 6th, at 10:00 AM at Taylor Funeral Service in Delta, CO. A luncheon will follow at the Carr home in Cedaredge.
