William Bill Edward Jensen

William (Bill) Edward Jensen passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, at the age of 80 in Reno, Nevada, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 16, 1944, in Westwood, California, Bill spent his youth in Redding, California. He attended Shasta College and pursued a lifelong career as a surveyor and engineer with the Soil Conservation Service, where he shared his passion for soil preservation and made many friends, often exchanging tips on the best hunting and fishing spots. Bill was a man of many talents and interests. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included fly tying, fishing, camping, and hunting deer and coyote. He excelled in competition target shooting and reloading and was a skilled taxidermist and animal sculptor. Robery Bob Meckley Sr.

Robert (Bob) Meckley Sr. went to be with the heavenly father at the South Lyon long-term care facility in Yerington, NV on August 2nd, 2024. Bob was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife where they attended many local events. He was an avid bowler and spent his free time at the bowling alley where he met and socialized with friends. He enjoyed yard work and helping others where needed. He worked for Pegasus Gold for 27 years as a Lab Technician. He was a volunteer for rsvp where he transported clients to their Dr. appointments. Patty Bostelman

Patty A. Bostelman was born in Fresno,CA. on August 9, 1949. Patty moved to Reno, NV when she turned 21, where she met her husband in March of 1978. Chris and Patty were married on April 3, 1978, and moved to Colorado where Chris went back into the Army, where they stayed until his retirement on December 31, 1990. They then moved to Winnemucca, NV. Patty was taken to her eternal home on August 31, 2024. Patty is survived by her husband, Chris, Sons’ Thomas and Christopher, and family. Her service was held at Mountain View Mortuary at 10 a.m. on September 18, 2024. Interment was held at 10 a.m. on September 19, 2024 at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Noeline Bross

Noeline was born December 25, 1923, on a ranch in Pleasant Valley, Nevada, to Pete Etchegoyhen and Jean Bidart. She was the youngest of five, two brothers Jerry and Pete and sisters Katherine and Leoni. She spent her early life on the farm helping her family struggle through the Depression. The family moved to Winnemucca, when Noeline was five. She began school speaking no English, but went on to excel at Humboldt High School. She was an excellent student, an athlete and a leader: Student Body Secretary and Senior Class President. In 1947, Noeline married Bill Lindley and moved to Portola. Her first daughter, Alexa Stacey, was born in September of 1948 and daughter Ann followed in 1951. Bill worked on the railroad and Noeline was an energetic homemaker, putting on cool birthday parties, and establishing herself in her new community. William Wayne Dafoe

William Wayne Dafoe, Affectionately known as Bill, 46, of Chester, MT died Wednesday September 11, 2024 peacefully at the family ranch after a battle with brain cancer. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, at the Whitlash Community Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will follow at the Whitlash Cemetery. Bill, the son of Bob and Toni Dafoe, was born January 10, 1978, in Chester, Montana. He was a 1996 graduate of Chester High School. In 2002 he was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree from Montana Tech where he majored in Metallurgical Engineering. In 2007, he received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada Reno. Our beloved Monica “Aunt Moni” Cervantes was unexpectedly called home, to be with our Lord, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. She gained her beautiful angel wings at just 23 years old. Moni was born on April 23, 2001, in Winnemucca, NV to Martin and Faustina Cervantes. She was the youngest of seven children, and being the baby of the bunch, she was the most loved and spoiled of them all. She lived in Winnemucca until 2016 when she moved to Smyrna, TN with her mother for a fresh start. However, Moni’s unbreakable connection and bond with her siblings saw her back in Nevada just a short few months later. Moni’s nomadic tendencies and gypsy soul kept her from planting roots in one spot. Maria Guerrero

Maria Guerrero, 75, of Lovelock, Nevada, passed away at her home of natural causes on September 7th, 2024. She was born in Zapotitlán, Mexico to Jose and Graciela Aries. She moved to Lovelock in 1964, where she quickly became a pillar of the community, raising a family, being an active member at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and opening and operating La Casita restaurant (1991-2014). Cooking was a major passion in her life and was an expression of love, not only for her family but all the people that walked though her door looking for a warm meal. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and sharing funny stories. Marta Carr

Marta Carr was born in Delta, CO, on April 18, 1956 to Ruben and Margaret Olvera, She grew up in Uravan, CO, and graduated from Nucla High School in 1974. Marta pursued her passion for anthropology at Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO, where she developed a deep love for studying ancient ruins and archaeology. On July 1, 1978, Marta married Ed Carr in Uravan, CO. Together they celebrated 46 years of marriage. She enjoyed four-wheeling, and was known for her warm and generous spirit. Marta had a great love for her family and cherished the time spent with friends and co-workers. Marta worked as an assay lab supervisor, retiring from Barrick Gold. Lacey Lee Jarolimek, a beloved resident of Winnemucca, NV, passed away on August 14, 2024, after bravely battling cancer. Born on January 8, 1949, in Twin Falls, ID. Lacey was the son of Olga and Leo Jarolimek. M.W. Williams

M.W. Williams born 08-16-1935 left this world to be with his savior on 10-11-2023 at the age of 88; he was laid to rest on 09-05-2024. The people of Winnemucca who were fortunate enough to know M.W. Williams knew him as (Joe). It is said Joe arrived in Winnemucca coming from Texas around 1960 working bucking hay for ranches and any other jobs that were available at the time. In the mid-1960s, Joe made his way out to Battle Creek and Paiute Meadows Ranches where he continued to work hard irrigating, haying and being a dependable ranch hand. In 1975 Joe was back in Winnemucca and working for Grady Plumbing as a a plumber’s helper. He remained with this company until around 1990 when he was hired as a maintenance worker for the Humboldt County Convention Center and remained there until his retirement. Edith Joan Salas

12/12/1936 - 8/12/2024 Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Edith Joan Salas went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 12, 2024. Edie was 87 years old and a nine year resident of Lovelock, Nevada. She was born the youngest of five daughters in Cincinnati, OH where she lived for 27 years. She served two years in the Marine Corps and was stationed in Parris Island, South Carolina. She moved out west to Nevada in 1965. She married Rudy Salas in 1967. They lived a simply wonderful rural life on a farm in Hiko, NV where their first daughter was born. They moved to Moapa, NV and continued the farming lifestyle. Rachel Louise Melody

Rachel was born in Tonopah Nevada on January 26th, 1934, to Anthony and Katherine Antoniazzi. She died, peacefully, on August 21st, 2024, at her home in Paradise Valley Nevada holding hands with family. She was 90 years young. In life to know Rachel was to be part of her extended family. Offering a warm embrace and a rub on the back was her love language. This was never more evident than throughout her career working with adults with special needs at Sonoma Industries. She found great pride in helping her clients find their way in the world. Lydia Thomsen, 80, resident of Las Vegas, NV, was born in Bloomington, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 29, 1944, Lydia lived a life filled with adventure, love, and resilience. At a young age of 15 she started a family and worked in AG Texas & Michigan, She then went on to work in Blackfoot, Idaho where she worked with her sons in the potato fields. Our mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, community pie maker and friend, Dorothea Ellen Knight (Hunter), passed away unexpectedly Monday morning August 26, 2024. Ellen was born on May 10, 1952 to Charles and Ruth Hunter of Cottage Grove, Oregon. She was the fourth child of eight in a home filled with love and music. Often her father would play his guitar to the delight of his family while they would sing and dance. Ellen was blessed with a creative mind and it showed in her artwork, in her cooking and many other ways.
