Clarence William Yancy, 84, passed away on Sept. 22, 2024, in Reno, NV.
Clarence was born on Oct. 28, 1939, in Illinois, and was the only child to Oliver Lyons Yancy and Nancy Mae Tinsley Yancy.
Before the age of 4, his family moved to Klamath Falls, OR.
On June 22, 1963, Clarence married Michelle Adele McCarcy in Carmel, CA.
They eventually settled in Oakland, CA. Clarence and Michelle had 4 children: Pamela Lynn, Phillip William, Deborah Anne and Danielle Alice.
In 1967, Clarence and Michelle were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses. From that time on, their lives revolved around their faith and hope for the future. Clarence worked for the Oakland Unified School District until he retired.
In 2001, Clarence and Michelle packed up and moved from California to Lovelock, NV, where they resided until their deaths.
Clarence enjoyed participating in the ministry, spending time with family and friends, “building” fires, hunting, fishing, camping, photography, watching Westerns, especially John Wayne, taking naps, playing Rummy and Dominos and eating beans, any beans.
Clarence was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and his daughter, Pamela.
He is survived by his children: son-in-law, Ramon Ruano, son, Phillip (Rebecca) Yancy, daughter, Deborah (Ryan) Kirby, daughter, Danielle (Santos) Maldonado; grandchildren: Nisa Ruano (Kevin Kittrell), Selena (Michael) Ngim, Isabel Ruano, Chelsea (Justin) Abbott, Cheyenne Yancy, Marina (Chris) Metler, Alexandria and Nicholas Koukouvetakis, Santos, Roy and Romeo Maldonado; great grandchildren: Aurora Metler, Santos Giovanni and Avangeline Maldonado.
He is also survived by his dog and constant companion, Daisy, and family friends, Joe and Anna Koukouvetakis.
