Jerry F. Brinkerhoff was a son, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He passed away on April 27, 2024 at Paiute Meadows Ranch where he loved the land.
Jerry was born on September 13, 1950 to Fay and Wanda Brinkerhoff in Fillmore, UT; he was the first of six siblings.
Jerry moved around between Utah and Nevada several times as a young child until settling in Orovada, Nevada in 1959.
Jerry finished school in Orovada and Mcdermitt where he graduated in 1969.
This was the year the family started Silver State Farms in Daveytown. They started from scratch on the 80 acres.
Jerry worked for his Uncle as a driller to help make money for the farm. In 1970 he joined the National Guard serving beside his best friend, Dave Dins.
After returning home he continued to work on the family farm and bought it as his own in 1988.
He raised alfalfa, alfalfa seed, and wheat while expanding the operation. Jerry raised his children Toby, Tasha, and Amanda alongside him.
Jerry retired from farming in 2005 and sold machinery at Ford New Holland for several years.
Visiting his family and friends he realized how much he missed farming. In 2015 he was able to resume farming on the Black Rock Desert at Battle Creek Ranch, Paiute Meadows Ranch, and Clarkfield Ranch.
He lived the last of his days doing what he loved most, farming.
Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. When he would take a break from farming you could find him doing either.
He went on many hunting and fishing trips with all members of his family. Jerry lived his best life with selfless generosity, devotion to family and friends. He found joy, enriching the land he loved and called home.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Wanda Brinkerhoff and his three children Toby (Kristee) Brinkerhoff, Tasha (Clay) Sheppard, Amanda (Curtis) Tollefsrud and his honorary daughter Laura Graybill.
