Patricia Romero Liscano

Patricia Romero Liscano passed away on April 11, 2024, in Spokane, Washington after a long-time illness. She was born on March 17, 1959, to Marta M. and Oscar L. Romero. She was born and raised in Ontario, Oregon and moved to Texas in 1979. She then moved to Winnemucca in 1987. In Winnemucca, she worked for Winners for many years as a 21 Dealer. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching jeopardy and spending time with her family and loved to dance to Tejano music and loved to listen to George Strait. She was a joker, one time she told her sister, Linda, to get in the dryer and turned it on! She was also very caring, taking her sister, Margie, to her son’s baseball games, she would also load up her sisters, Rachel and Margie, and some of their cousins and go cruising in the summers. Beverly LaRue Slack Goodloe

Beverly LaRue Slack Goodloe passed away on May 13, 2024, at her home in Winnemucca, Nevada. She was born on June 16, 1930, to John Edward Slack and Rosalind Mariam Pence in Mountain Home, Idaho. Beverly lived in Bruneau, Idaho at the T Ranch with her parents and older sister, Patricia “Pat”. When Bev was 4 and Pat was 6, their father died of nephritis. Pat and Bev’s grandparents (Arthur Jr. and Edith Pence) helped raise these two wild sisters. When Beverly was 9, Rosalind married Bill Wegman adding three more siblings, William, Judith, and John “Johnny”. The family moved to Homedale, Idaho and purchased the Rosalind Theater where Beverly and Pat worked many hours after school. Beverly graduated from the Homedale High School and went on to become a registered nurse at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise. On August 5, 1952, Beverly married Vernon Leonard Goodloe. Betty Lage

Betty Lage passed away on May 12, 2024, at her home in Winnemucca, Nevada. She was born on January 16, 1931, in East Ely, Nevada to Harvey and Beth Larsen. Betty lived in many places in Nevada while her husband traveled as miner. She was a wonderful homemaker and took care of her children. She belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and genealogy. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lage, her parents, Bob and Beth Larsen and her brother, Dallas and her sister, Fancine Littledyke and her daughter, Deborah L. Johanson. She is survived by Her sons, Robert Lage, John M Lage, and daughter Marta Lage. Ronald Franklin Gandolfo

Ronald Franklin Gandolfo passed away on May 9th, 2024. Ron was born May 31st, 1936 in Reno, Nevada, to Irene and Franklin Gandolfo. He spent the majority of his childhood in Austin, graduating from Austin High School in 1954. Shortly thereafter, he married his sweetheart Theresa Jolly. Together, they built a life they loved and had three daughters: Valerie, Sabrina and Michele. Many years after Theresa’s passing, Ron married Altha Benson and spent time with her family in American Fork, Utah. Though Altha passed away not many years after they wed, Ron always said he was grateful for the opportunity to have two great loves in his life. Known affectionately as “Pop”, Ron was a family man through and through. He had a number of jobs, including Austin Post Master and school bus driver. Donald William Hogg

Donald William Hogg of Winnemucca, Nevada passed away unexpectedly in Reno, Nevada on May 6, 2024. Don was born July 22, 1957, in Clay Center, Kansas to George William and Nancy Lou Hogg. He was the oldest of four children. Don spent his childhood years in various places, ending up in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he graduated from Skyline High School in 1975. He enlisted in the United States Army and spent time in Korea and Panama. He received an honorable discharge in 1979. He then attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated with a degree in Telecommunications in 1982. While at ISU, he met and married his wife Donna Reynolds in August of 1981. Upon graduation, he and Donna moved to San Jose, California where he worked for Pacific Gas & Electric as an Underground Lead Cable Splicer. After several years, he and Donna relocated to Sparks, …

Donna Marie Henry

Donna Marie Henry, 84, of Greeley, CO, formerly of Winnemucca, NV, passed away early on April 25, 2024. Donna was born March 5, 1940 in Winnemucca, NV, to Joseph and Marie McMurtrey. She attended Winnemucca High School and graduated in 1958 and then went college at Gonzaga University, where she graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor’s in Education. Donna met her love and husband, Royce Henry at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, CA where she was a grade school teacher for 5 years. She and Royce married on June 23, 1965 at the La Purisima Catholic Church in Lompoc, CA, and lived in Lompoc until they moved to Greeley, CO in 1966 when Royce became employed by Mountain Bell. Jerry F. Brinkerhoff

Jerry F. Brinkerhoff was a son, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He passed away on April 27, 2024 at Paiute Meadows Ranch where he loved the land. Jerry was born on September 13, 1950 to Fay and Wanda Brinkerhoff in Fillmore, UT; he was the first of six siblings. Jerry moved around between Utah and Nevada several times as a young child until settling in Orovada, Nevada in 1959. Jerry finished school in Orovada and Mcdermitt where he graduated in 1969. This was the year the family started Silver State Farms in Daveytown. They started from scratch on the 80 acres. Jerry worked for his Uncle as a driller to help make money for the farm. In 1970 he joined the National Guard serving beside his best friend, Dave Dins. After returning home he continued to work on the family farm and bought it as his own in 1988. He …

Deanna Berene Jones

Deanna Berene Jones, aged 85, from Winnemucca, Nevada passed away on April 19, 2024. Deanna was born on April 17, 1939, in Pioche, Nevada, to James and Berene Hulse. She was the fifth of seven children. Deanna spent her childhood in Pioche and later met Claude Jones in 1957, whom she married soon after. They had four children together: Stan, Janeece, Kerry and Russell, and were married for nearly 40 years. After their youngest child was born, the family moved to Kellogg, Idaho, where they lived for thirteen years before moving to Imlay, Nevada. Deanna spent her last twelve years in Winnemucca, Nevada. She worked at several restaurants throughout her life. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, sewing and baking. She was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Seattle Seahawks. Joseph F Street

April 22, 1927 – April 27, 2024 Joe Street passed away on April 27, 2024, in Winnemucca, Nevada. He had just celebrated his 97th birthday. He was born in Collinsville, Alabama, and grew up on a farm on Lookout Mountain. Upon enlisting in the Navy in March of 1944, after boot camp, he was assigned to the USS Hunt Destroyer, where he completed his military service in Pacific Operations during World War II. He was honorably discharged in April 1946, just shy of his 19th birthday. During his military travels through the Western US, he became infatuated with the land and decided that he wanted to be a cowboy. A few years after his military service, he obtained a job on a Texas ranch. For approximately forty years, he was a cowboy on many ranches in various states: Texas, South Dakota, Montana, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. His last ranching …
