Réal Mario Joseph Desrosiers

Réal Mario Joseph Desrosiers “Spike” passed away on June 8, 2024, in Reno, Nevada. He was born on August 28, 1962, in Chapais, Quebec, Canada to Bertrand and Lucie Desrosiers. He was born in Canada and traveled around the United States as a child because his dad was a tramp miner. He joined the United States Army in 1981 in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He came to Winnemucca in 1992 to raise his family and live the rest of his life. He worked in mining his whole career and also worked in Mine Rescue and was an EMT. He enjoyed taking his grandson fishing and working in his shop with his boys. Loved binge watching tv shows and was known for hiding his favorite snacks and not sharing. Rick Curtis Doke

Rick Curtis Doke was born on July 17, 1962 in Joplin Missouri to Melinda Hill and Richard Doke. He has one sister Tammy (Pat) Linder and three brothers Craig (Mishelle) Hill, Kelly (Melissa) Hill, and Casey Hill. Rick married his wife, Kim, of 42 years in May of 1982. He had three children; Ricky, Jenifer, and Dustin. He has since been blessed with eight grandchildren. Rick worked in mining for 37 years and recently celebrated ten years underground for Nevada Gold Mine. Rick enjoyed time barbecuing, spending time with his family, and poker nights. Rick had a great sense of humor with a joke always being on the tip of his tongue. He also had a love for ice cream particularly milkshakes and banana splits. “Nora” Marie Johnson

On May 16, 2024, “Nora” Marie Johnson joined her beloved husband in heaven. Marie was born on November 12, 1930 in Steam Boat Springs, Colo. She married “Joe” Cecil Johnson on December 28, 1947 and they were married until his death on July 19, 2010. Marie lived a good life. She always said so. She loved her children and grandchildren as well as great grandchildren very much. She had pictures all through her house to prove it. Her and Cecil lived many places as they were raising their family until finally settling down in Winnemucca, Nevada for the remainder of their lives. Marie and Cecil loved to travel after retirement. They enjoyed taking their grandchildren camping whenever they got the chance. Marie is survived by her daughter, Nora Jean Olsen, sons Don and Howard (Jocelyn) Johnson. Chester Robert “Bob” Killfoil

Chester Robert “Bob” Killfoil of Fallon, Nevada, passed away at home on April 10,2024, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. Bob was born on April 11,1947, in Alturas, California, to Marvin and Frances Killfoil, the fourth of six children. He attended the first four years of school in Willow Ranch, California. In 1956, the family moved to Lovelock, Nevada, where he continued his education until graduating from Pershing County High School in 1965 as class valedictorian. After marrying Nikki Vonsild, Bob went to work for Sierra Pacific Power Company. Several years later he transferred to Fallon, Nevada, where they raised their daughters Jessica and Claudeane. He continued to work for Sierra Pacific until his retirement. A highlight of his retirement was building a log house with his brother, Jim, in Jamestown, California. Thomas Otto Wiltsie

Thomas Otto Wiltsie of Winnemucca passed away May 24, 2024 at the age of 84. He was born in St. Charles Illinois to Charles and Jane Wiltsie. After high school he joined the Coast Guard and served for 3 years on the Coast Guard Cutter Eastwind during Operation Deep Freeze, he sailed to the antarctic and around the world. After being honorably discharged he spent many years working for various construction companies in Las Vegas and Reno, then moving to Doyle California where he owned and operated his own garage and towing company. In the 1980’s he moved to Kings River where he worked for Cockeye Land and livestock. He also worked for Hycroft, Rabbit Creek and Twin Creeks before finding the job he loved when he went to work for Simplot in Winnemucca, he worked there for many years and eventually retired.
