Karen Louise Thomas

April 10, 1966 - July 10, 2024

Karen passed away at home, surrounded by loved ones in Winnemucca, NV on July 10th, 2024, after a long battle with COPD.  
She was born on April 10th, 1966, in Salida, Colorado to parents Ernest and Florence Shehorn. 
Karen graduated high school in Creede, Colorado in 1984.  
She married Clayton Thomas on August 25th, 1984, in Creede, Colorado and in September of 1984 they moved out to Brentwood, Ca and had two children, Tiffany and Reece Thomas.
They moved to Cobb, Ca in late 1989 where they later had two more children, Melanie and Cody Thomas.
In late 2001 the family of 6 moved out to Winnemucca, NV to be closer to Clayton’s sister, Jennifer Wardell and her family.  
Karen is survived by her Husband of 39 years, Clayton Thomas. Her children: Tiffany (Josh) Wiley, Melanie (Jacob) Jakich and Cody Thomas.
Grandchildren: Kira Wiley, Kytin Wiley, and soon the be welcomed, Lylah June Jakich.
Step grandchildren: Eli Jakich and Demi Jakich. Mother-in-law, Lita Lappin.
Sister, Georgia (Bob) Little, sister-in-law, Jennifer (Mark) Wardell, sister-in-law Shannon Lappin and brother-in-law Justin Lappin (Cquerida).
Nieces and Nephews: Tammy Little (and her children), Jerry Little (Trina and their children). Brittany Kohlruss, Dion Wardell, Kyle Wardell, Marshall Goetzinger and Denver Lappin. 
She is preceded in death by her son, Reece Thomas and her parents, Ernest and Florence Shehorn. 
The Family would like to thank Thea with Guiding Light Hospice along with Dr. Tkach and all the other nurses with Guiding Light.
