Jim Phillips unexpectedly passed away on June 10, 2024.
He was born on September 21, 1945, in Midland, Texas to King and Mary Alice Phillips.
Jim joined the United States Navy on February 20, 1963, and served 3 years.
After being discharged he went to California. Jim married Jo Adkins in Santa Clara, California on June 3, 1973.
They were married 34 years until Jo’s passing on December 28, 2006.
He and Jo owned a restaurant in California, and then moved to Nevada.
He worked in Kings River as a farm hand and then for the mines. After his retirement, he went to work for CB Brown’s in the service department.
Jim attended the First Baptist Church and the Winnemucca Christian Fellowship churches while he lived in Winnemucca, he always enjoyed singing during services.
He loved to walk his dog Beamer, fresh flowers and visiting with friends.
He enjoyed photography and reading and GOOD FOOD, especially when shared with friends.
He was a guitar player and fly fisher and he loved fast motorcycles. He enjoyed the beauty of nature and photography.
Jim was very giving and caring man, to really know him was to love him.
He will be greatly missed. Rest easy – love you my friend, Ree.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jo, both parents and a brother.
Services for Jim are to be held at the First Baptist Church, July 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
