Frank P Gomez

October 4, 1942 - January 19, 2024

Frank P. Gomez was born October 4, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, the fourth child of Joe and Rosie Gomez. 
He passed away suddenly on January 19, 2024, at the age of 81.
He married the love of his life Arline Krupp on December 23, 1965.  Frank and Arline had two daughters Corinna and Ann.
Frank was a long-time miner, working in the industry for more than 48 years.
He was employed by Carlin Gold, Pinson, Marigold, Santa Fe Pacific, and Newmont Mines. 
He was also a volunteer police officer for the City of Carlin for more than 12 years. 
In his younger years he did a variety of jobs from line cook, fire fighter and gas station attendant.
Daddy’s true passion and love was Arline, his kids, grandkids, and family. 
He coached both girls’ in softball, even into adulthood and followed all the kids and grandkids sports and activities. He could always be heard “coaching” from the stands.
Frank had several hobbies, passing some of those along to his kids and grandkids.
Frank played city league basketball in Carlin and Elko, men’s fastpitch in Elko and Winnemucca. 
He could play any position but was an amazing pitcher (a passion he passed on to his granddaughter).
Frank rode the pony express re-ride for over 30 years, riding his Arabians versus the popular quarter horses that others favored.
Frank was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed guns, fishing, being in the hills or just being on the water.
“Pancho” was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Rosie Gomez, brothers Alex and Bobby Gomez, sister Vallie Marin, brother-in-law Ted Robbins and his niece Jenny and her husband.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Arline, affectionately called Blondie, his daughters Corinna Mullins, Ann (Jeff) Ellifritz, grandkids Hunter Mullins, Josie Ellifritz and Callie Jo Mullins. 
His sister Cecilia Cortez (Felix), Avalina Deleon, Phyllis Robbins, brother Richard Gomez and brother-in-law Regino Marin.
The sons of his heart Pablo DeLeon and Kelly Brown as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on February 10th, 2024, at 11 am Winnemucca Christian Fellowship 4380 Grass Valley Road with a gathering to follow.
