Surrounded by loved ones on March 21st, 2024, Rocky Joe Perides lost his battle with medical issues and passed away at Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca.
Even through his pain he fought with a smile, worrying about others more than himself.
Rocky was born March 27th, 1957 in Price, UT to Betty Evelynn Gordon and lived there for several years until moving to Provo.
He graduated from Orem High School and joined the Utah National Guard in 1976, serving honorably for 9 years in total.
Rocky married Christine Young in 1977 and together they were blessed with four amazing children.
In 1988 Rocky moved his family to Nevada in pursuit of career opportunities and remained in Nevada the rest of his life.
Rocky was a generous person with strong family values, if someone needed help no matter the reason he would help.
Through the years many family members and many more non-family members were blessed with his generosity with no expectations for anything in return.
Rocky loved the outdoors, everything outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish and one of his biggest passions was to pass along these skills to the next generation, helping his kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews learn the sport.
He also loved to gather with friends and family for fun games of hacky sack and horseshoes, anything outdoors.
Rocky was preceded in death and will reunite with his mother Betty.
He is survived by his children Elisha [Angela] Perides; Christa [Daryl] Ball; Evelynn [Mike] Schomer; Jeff Perides; his sister Jeannie Olson; brother Pete [Kathy] Perides; and sister Sue [Tim] Grange; 18 grandchildren; 14 nieces and nephews and countless great nieces and nephews.
Rocky’s compassion, caring, and smile will be missed by everyone he knew.
