Michael Anthony Odom

November 12, 1959 - August 27, 2023

Michael Anthony Odom passed away on August 27, 2023, at his home in Winnemucca, Nevada at the age of 63.
He was born on November 12, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York to John and Betty Odom.
Michael was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He lived there until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1980.
He was stationed in Japan for about 2 years until he was transferred to Yuma, Arizona. He left the Marine Corps in 1985.
He was trained as an Engineer Equipment Mechanic, which he continued to use throughout his life.
He married Ramona Richards in 1997, and the two were married until 2002.
He started his career at Hunewill Construction using his training in Engineer Equipment Mechanics, he worked there until his death.
In 2011, Michael married Deborah Carlson. The two shared the last 12 years together. Sharing many laughs and memories.
Michael enjoyed all sports and loved watching games on TV or in person. He always said he was “The Greatest Man Alive” and he was just that. He made so many long-lasting friendships and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Odom, his children, Renee Richards, Shanta Richards, and Adrianna Norman.
His grandchildren, Remeihk Bowles, Ariah Bowles, Aleija Bowles, Isiah Robinson, Mariah Robinson, Xayvian Norman, Donovan Higley, Aaliyah Peterson, Giovanni Robinson-Montgomery.
His brother, Curtis Odom and his sister, Shirley Odom and his nieces and nephews Asali Carter, Imani Odom, Isis Odom, Kwame Odom, and Janelle Odom.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Odom and his son, Johnnie Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held on September 8, 2023, at 9:00 am at Sonoma Funeral Home, Burial at 11:00 am at the Winnemucca Cemetery and a reception to follow at Vesco Park.
