Melvin "Dusty" Rex Gokey Jr.

Melvin “Dusty” Rex Gokey Jr passed away on October 18, 2023, at his home in Winnemucca, Nevada.
He was born on October 6, 1958, in Madera, California to Melvin Rex Gokey Sr and Alice Lee Hogue.
He married Tina Carbone 7 years ago. He was an amazing father to Samantha Wallace, Jessica Gokey, Renee Gokey, Shelly Gokey, William Gokey, Jerry Carrington, and Karista Hughes.
He worked at Gokey Farms and later opened a Feed Store with his wife, Tina. He enjoyed working in his garage during his pastime.
Dusty was one of the hardest working men from hauling hay, which he loved to do, to tending to his and Tina’s local feed store.
He was always making people smile. He loved to make people laugh. And most people who knew him went from being a friend and becoming family.
He will always be remembered as a loving, caring, funny, hardworking father, grandfather, and husband. We will all miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Carbone. His children, Samantha (Jimmy) Wallace, Jessica Gokey, Renee Gokey, Shelly Gokey, William (Lexa) Gokey, Jerry (Angie) Carrington, and Karista (Richard) Hughes. His grandchildren, Celia and Conor Gokey, Danyela and Adrian Assumpcao, Nick, Jada, Layla and Spencer Carrington and Aryella, Urujah and Aryka Wallace.
And his great-grandchildren, Penelope Carrington.
He is also survived by his brother, Frank Gonzalez and his sister, Marica Key and many friends who became family, cousins, uncles and aunts, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Rex Gokey Sr and Alice Lee Hogue and his sisters, Sandra Gonzales, and Janet Gonzales.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 8, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Comstock Room of the Winnemucca Convention Center East Hall.
His children would like to thank Tina for taking care of Dad and making sure he was comfortable and loved.
