Dennis Leon Acorda

February 25, 1959 - November 10, 2023

Dennis Leon Acorda was born on February 25, 1959 in Nampa, Idaho, to Albert and Hermine Acorda(goitia).
Dennis passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2023.
Dennis graduated from Lowry High School in 1977. He went on to Great Basin Community College in Elko and was a member of the college rodeo team.
After college, Dennis returned to the family ranch in Paradise Valley where he worked for his uncle Fred Miller and “Nanny” Elizabeth Miller for several years.
Dennis and his family moved to Fallon in 1987, where he lived in Stillwater and worked with his father-in-law on the deBraga family ranch.
Dennis also leased farm ground, owned a harrow-bed business and raised cattle. Dennis was very active in the community helping with 4-H, FFA, Jr. Rodeos, Judging Contests and the Silver State International Rodeo.
In 1997, Dennis moved back to Winnemucca and opened Arrowhead Glass, which he operated for about 6 years.
He was often seen enjoying lunch across the street at The Martin. In 2009 (AmyJo) his daughter came to help run the business and they had lunch every chance they could.
Dennis met Juanita Kennedy in 2006 and bought the Paradise Valley Bar and Grill in 2011, which they have operated since.
Dennis was a very talented man. Many said there wasn’t much he could not do.
He loved the outdoors; working cattle, farming, camping, fishing and hunting.
Dennis is survived by his companion Juanita Kennedy, his daughters Tiana (Coby) Theodosis of Cameron Park, CA and AmyJo Grissom of Fallon, brother, Joe Bidaurreta (D’Ann), nephew and niece, Martin and Ella, grandsons’ Jackson and Hayes Theodosis, Uncle Paul Miller, and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
