Daniel Martin DeBord

May 10, 1962 - May 7, 2023

On Sunday, May 7, 2023, Daniel Martin DeBord went home to be with the Lord.
He was born May 10, 1962 to Geneva Marie Perius and Paul Stephen DeBord in Fort Ord, California.
Dan moved to Winnemucca to start his law enforcement career in August 1987 with Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. In June of 1989 he transferred to the Winnemucca Police Department.
He then met his loving wife Karol at church service and got married on May 6, 1995. They spent 26 amazing years together. In February 2011 he transferred back over to the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office where he finished out his law enforcement career in April of 2016.
He always had been a fire arm enthusiast. Just before retirement he started a gun smith shop with a good friend.
Besides his love for guns he also had much love for his late wife Karol and her two daughters (Jesica and Sarah) that he learned to love as his own and his wonderful grandkids.
He loved to teach his grandkids terrible jokes and how to protect themselves.
Dan was the protector of the family and everyone around him. He was always a safe place to go to.
Before Dan passed he was able to welcome his first great Grandson into this world on May 1, 2023. He was a member of Winnemucca Christian Fellowship and remained as such until his passing.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife Karol Kay DeBord.
His parents Geneva and Paul and his wonderful sister Marie. He is survived by his daughters Jesica Rookstool and Sarah (Joel) Welsh. Grandchildren Michelle (Hunter) Albisu, Ashley Rookstool, Jimmy Rookstool, Shai Welsh, and Catherine Welsh. And his Great Grandson Jensen Albisu.
A service will be held Sunday May 28, 2023, at 2pm at Winnemucca Christian Fellowship.
