It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christopher Luis Solis on June 14, 2023 at the age of 47.
Chris fought hard for 2.5 months after a massive heart attack.
He was born in Winnemucca, NV to Debbie and Luis Solis. His childhood was spent playing all sports, however he excelled in baseball throughout his high school years but his favorite sport was basketball.
Chris graduated high school in 1994 where he met the love of his life, Silvia. Soon they were blessed with 3 children whom he loved with all his heart.
Chris continued his passion for sports by coaching his children’s basketball games. Chris’ pride and joy were his grandchildren.
His most endearing moments were spent at the bench lines rooting for them at their games.
His warm smile, soft wink and heartwarming nod truly welcomed anyone. He was witty, full-spirited and always had time to listen and a shoulder to lean on. Anyone who truly knew Chris would say he is one of a kind.
He is survived by his loving wife, Silvia Solis, his children, Viviana (Alberto) Estrada, Darian Solis, and DeAndre Solis, his grandchildren, Josiah , Jaydian and Jiovonte Estrada, Yuliana and Katalyna Solis, his parents; Debbie Solis, Luis (Eva) Solis, siblings; Fermin (Nelly) Solis, Marco, Bertha and Luisito Solis; nephews Domonick and Jacob Solis, nieces and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
We would like to thank our family, friends and the community for all the love and support.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sonoma Funeral Home, 47 West First Street, Winnemucca, NV 89445
Services will be Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 350 Melarkey St, Winnemucca, NV 89445
10 a.m. - Rosary
11 a.m. - Mass
1 p.m. - Burial (Winnemucca Cemetery across from KFC)
Food reception to follow the burial at the Winnemucca Convention Center from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
