Judy Alice Scott passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home at 86 years old. She was born on January 3, 1937, in Ward County, Minot, North Dakota.
Judy graduated in 1955 from Minot High School. Judy married her soulmate, Robert Kent Scott, on April 22, 1956, at Christ Lutheran in Minot and were blessed with 58 years of marriage. In that time they had 3 children, Ramona, Allen, and Terri.
Judy’s husband moved the family from Minot, North Dakota to Southern California in 1961.
They moved again to Buena Park to a larger home and better schools.
In 1966, Judy went back to school to be a dental assistant and she graduated top of her class. She continued her studies and was certified for Oral Surgery Assistant.
She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Harris and Dr. O’Connor of Norwalk, CA for seven years and then she worked for Dr. Harvey DDS.
In 1979, when Judy and Robert retired, they bought some acreage in Aguanga, CA. This is where they would enjoy retirement on their small ranch with horses and chickens and many other animals! They moved to Winnemucca, Nevada in 2004 to be closer to their family.
Judy was a woman of God, she was baptized on April 1, 1937. She was confirmed in the Christian Faith on May 20, 1951. Judy and Robert became members of the Zion Lutheran Church in 2005.
They found a wonderful church family with Pastor Mark Kliewer. Judy was a member of Ruth’s Circle, the altar guild and the women’s bible study.
Judy was a member of TOPS in Southern California in 1993 and then joined TOP #NV149 regaining her Kops status on May 16, 2005, and served as leader in 2005.
Judy was also a member of the Red Hat Society in Winnemucca and enjoyed the parades.
She had a beautiful and big heart and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Ramona Kay Williams and Allen Robert Scott.
Her grandchildren, Victor Hernandez, Laticia Barron, Jeffery Scott, Katrina Scott, Larry Valverde, Aryn Valverde, and Michael Valverde.
Her great-grandchildren, Richard, Omar Jr, Ulissa Barron, Trevor and Paisley Scott, Jayden, and Aryanna Valverde, Myles and Madalynn Valverde and Bella Mendoza. Her great-great-grandchild, Magdalena Barron-Leyva. She is also survived by her nieces, Susan Drochner (WatLand) and Tina Camou, as well as many more cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kent Scott. Her parents, Melvin WatLand and Alice J. WatLand Benson. Her brother, Duane WatLand and her daughter Terri Lynn Scott Talley.
A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:30am.

They would also like to thank Guiding Light Hospice nurses, Thea Jeffery, Ethan Cote and Mike Evans who provided care and compassion to our mother, Judy and us, especially in her final days. And to each and every one who reached out and supported us, there are too many to name!
