Pedro Sandoval, 78, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on November 24, 2023 in Juarez, Mexico.
Pedro was born in Valle de Olivos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Juan Sandoval and Eustolia Medina on May 4, 1945.
He moved to the United States 60 years ago and made Winnemucca his home for the duration of his life.
He met the love of his life, Anita (Martinez), in Winnemucca and they were married on September 30, 1967.
Pedro and Anita spent the next 56 years together and were blessed with 3 children, Danny, Raymond, and Glenda. Pedro was a hard worker with a strong work ethic.
He was employed as a machine operator for Union Pacific Railroad for 38 years and retired in 2005.
Pedro was a kind, generous, quiet, and family oriented man.
Pedro loved his retirement years because he was able to focus on what he loved best – spending time with his family.
He loved taking his grandchildren for rides on his four-wheeler and taught his granddaughter, Liana, how to drive it by the time she was 4.
He loved gardening with his grandson, Cameron, working on his property with his favorite tractor, and watching his favorite teams, the Denver Broncos and Golden State Warriors with his wife, Anita.
He would also take yearly trips to Mexico to spend time with his extended family.
Pedro is survived by his wife, Anita; his children Danny (Shayla) Sandoval; Raymond Sandoval; Glenda (Larry) Sandoval; his grandchildren, Domanic, Micah, Mason, Arielle, and Liana Sandoval; his brother, Francisco Sandoval; sister Martha (Bob) Rocha; sister-in-law, Mary Martinez; special nephew, Ernesto Sandoval and very dear friends, Joe and Yolanda Mojalca.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Eustolia; and his grandson, Cameron Sandoval.
Pedro was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Services will be postponed until the Spring of 2024. Pedro, you will be deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace.
