George Wesley Smith

August 7, 1938 - November 22, 2023

George was a man of great integrity. He always did the right thing, even when it wasn’t popular or easy.
He was a role model to our family and a mentor to many others.
Those who knew and loved George knew he was a man of faith and loved the Lord with all his heart, mind, and soul.
In addition to his faith, he was also a very hard worker.
He always put his family first and ensured they had everything that was needed, even if it meant sacrificing his wants and needs.
He was a selfless man and always put others before himself.
He was born on August 7th, 1938, and went to walk on streets of gold with our Savior on November 22nd, 2023. Born in Geary, Oklahoma, he was the 6th child to Leo V and Syliva Smith, in his family there were 4 girls and 8 boys.
He was also the last Okie born in his family, soon after his birth the Smith family moved to Kansas.
He spent most of his childhood in Kansas, when he was 16 years old, he moved to Eureka, Kansas. There he met Irene Reynolds.
They were married on George’s 18th birthday, August 7th, 1956. George and Irene had 4 children, Debbie, Danny, Darrin, and Dana. Irene passed away in August of 1999.
George married Dixie Frederick on February 25, 2000. He was so blessed to have been able to love and be loved twice in his life. Together they have 6 children, which added Tony and Angela to the mix.
George loved being a papa and a great papa. He will forever be in all of their hearts.
He is survived by his 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
Words cannot express our sense of loss nor fill the emptiness we feel inside.
If you knew George Smith, you knew you were blessed beyond measure.
