Rafael Hernandez Venzor

October 24, 1955 - July 25, 2023

Rafael Hernandez Venzor passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2023, at his home in Paradise Valley, Nevada.
He was born on October 24, 1955, in La Manga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Miguel and Alicia Venzor.
He was the ninth of eleven children and raised on the family ranch in Mexico where he also completed the fourth grade at Agustin Melgar in Mexico.
Rafa worked at El Chorriadero, a small mine in Mexico prior to moving to the United States where he spent his days working in construction and ranching.
Raf always loved the ranching way of life and spent every chance he could doing that.
He lived in many places including Florida from 1978 until 1979, he moved to Texas in 1979 where he met Chayo and they lived there together until 1985. Rafa and Chayo then lived in Colorado from 1985 until finally moving to Nevada, where he would stay from 1995 until his passing.
Raf spent many years working for Nevada First Corporation where was able to do what he loved most, being a cowboy. He made many lifelong friendships during his time in Paradise Valley and would do anything for anyone at any given time.
Raf will be remembered for always having an open door for anyone in need.
Raf and Chayo married in 1979 and the two shared four children together; Michelle, Junior, Juan and Amanda. Following their separation, Rafael married Anita Thompson-Venzor in 2019.
Rafa loved ranching, hunting, fishing and gardening. He spent many days doing the things he loved most, with his friends, family and Milo. Raf is most known for his green thumb, his raggedy cowboy hat, infectious laughter, and genuine personality.
