Members of the Battle Mountain High School boys basketball team attended a summer camp hosted by the Northwest Basketball Camp in LaGrande, Ore. The summer camp ended successfully as the team won the consolation championship tournament.
The 32nd Annual Silver State International Rodeo closed up shop for another year on Saturday afternoon at the Winnemucca Events Complex with the Top-15 Finals. Hundreds of contestants from around the country and Canada took part in the week-long event that featured athletes that finished fifth through 15th in their final state and province standings. A handful of Humboldt County and Battle Mountain students took part in the event.
Junior high and high school athletes from around the West and Canada were in Winnemucca this week for the 32nd Annual Silver State International Rodeo. The event features some of the top finishers in their state or province in pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, ribbon roping, barrel racing, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc and chute dogging.
