Lady Longhorns provide strong showing at White Pine tournament

The Battle Mountain High School girls soccer team returned from Ely tired, after five matches, with a 2– 2–1 record and a tie for third place in the Jason Nelson memorial tournament at White Pine High School.

However, as the 2018 season began at the start of August there were a number of new faces on the sidelines for thew Longhorns. RPM Basketball Camp teaches kids the game the right way

Forty three Battle Mountain youths attended the RPM basketball camp for three days last week in the gymnasium at Battle Mountain High School. The Randy, Paul and Michael (RPM) basketball camp was broken into two groups, high school from 9 a.m. - noon, and the smaller kids came in from  1 p.m. – 4 p.m. The cost of this camp was $75, which included a T-shirt and a basketball. 

Softball league returns to Battle Mountain adults

The Adult Co-ed Softball League has returned to Battle Mountain this summer with plans to make help town causes and charities. The league was ramped back up after a five-year hiatus with a board of seven members, insurance, a 501C3 non-profit status, approval for field use by the County Commission, and a liquor license for the concessions. 

Chamoures named new safeties coach at Nevada

 Nevada football coach Jay Norvell announced today that he is elevating Mike Chamoures within the Wolf Pack’s coaching staff and that Chamoures will coach safeties for the team in 2018.
