The Battle Mountain High School volleyball team suffered a pair of Northern 2A losses this past weekend at home. The Lady Longhorns hosted Incline on Friday night and lost 25-19, 15-25, 25-5 and 25-21.
For the past few weeks, the Battle Mountain High School football team has seen little time on the field with its offense but still has put up an impressive number of points. That was the case again on Friday night, as the Longhorns ran just 29 plays but scored 63 points in a 63-13 win over White Pine in Battle Mountain. Battle Mountain (4-0 Northern 2A, 4-1 overall) picked up two punt returns from Aldo Castellanos in the win.

The Battle Mountain High School girls golf team is off to a quick start, winning a tournament held at Chimney Creek Golf Course in Wells last Friday. The Lady Longhorns shot a 494 to win the tournament and White Pine was the only other school to record a team score.
