The Battle Mountain High School junior varsity football team continued its dominant season with a 36-24 victory over Pershing County on Friday in Battle Mountain. It was the second win of the year for the Longhorns over the Mustangs.

The fourth annual Buster Miller Memorial Junior Rodeo was held on Sept. 19 at the Lander County Livestock Events Center. This year, there were 70 contestants from surrounding areas, ages 0-13, who thoroughly enjoyed the day competing in several events.
