WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School sophomore Juliana Velasco was named to the Division I-A North first team and the all-state second team at middle blocker for her play during the volleyball season.

WINNEMUCCA - When you are a quality team like the Lowry High School varsity boys basketball squad, you have a target on your back every time you go out on the floor.The Buckaroos found that out firsthand on Friday night at South Tahoe in their Division I-A North opener. The Vikings raced out to a 19-5 first quarter lead and were up by as many as 18 points in the second quarter, before the Buckaroos rallied in the second half to win 63-55.

WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School boys freshmen basketball team opened Division I-A North play this past weekend at home with a pair of wins.After getting a scare in a 57-47 victory over South Tahoe on Friday night, the Buckaroos routed Dayton 59-15 on Saturday afternoon to improve to 2-0 in league play and 7-3 on the season.
