RENO - Ever since the Lowry High School boys basketball team beat Elko for the state championship a year ago, many predicted the two rival schools would meet again in this season's Division I-A North regional championship.

The Greater Nevada Baseball Club received a $2,500 donation from Barrick Gold's Turquoise Ridge for its city league and summer league teams. The donation will go to purchases needed for the team, excluding travel and motel rooms. Miss Winnemucca High Desert Rodeo Queen to be crowned Saturday

WINNEMUCCA - Three girls will vie for the title of 2013 Miss Winnemucca High Desert Rodeo Queen to be held Saturday in the 4-H meeting room of the Winnemucca Events Complex.A luncheon will be served at noon with the modeling, speech, impromptu speech and horsemanship to follow. Coronation of the new queen and her court will be at 4:30 p.m.
