BLM sets aside land for proposed solar project in White Pine County

ELY — The Bureau of Land Management is setting aside lands proposed to be used by the Pantheon Solar Development Project for two years, preventing the land from being sold or subject to new mining claims while the BLM studies the proposal to develop renewable energy resources in the area.

Low-level helicopter flights to image geology in western Nevada

RESTON, Va. — Low-level helicopter flights are planned over a broad region in western Nevada to image geology using airborne geophysical technology. The survey will begin in Nov 2023 and is to be completed by April 2024, weather, wildlife and wildfire restrictions permitting. Flights will cover an area of more than 15,000 square miles (39,000 square kilometers) and will include areas Churchill, Douglas, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Pershing, Storey, Washoe and Carson City County in Nevada.

USDA Rural Development Staff The USDA Rural Development ReConnect Program has provided funding to bring high-speed internet to rural communities across America, from Alaska to Texas to Lovelock, Nevada. The ReConnect Program offers loans, grants, and loan-grant combinations to fund construction, improvement, or acquisition of facilities and equipment needed to provide broadband service. It is designed to fund the most difficult high-speed projects in the nation—rural and remote communities, that, like Lovelock, have gone unserved for too long.

It is important to note, AB428 has the force of law and does not require additional regulations before local school districts implement this law.
