Cyanco provides advanced training for minesite trainers

WINNEMUCCA - Cyanco, a manufacturer of liquid sodium cyanide for the mining industry, hosted its annual Cyanide Trainers Meeting in Winnemucca on June 28. More than 60 trainers from customer minesites attended the training, which started at the Winnemucca Convention Center. Attendees were given a Cyanide Safety, train-the-trainer class, followed by a Process, Transportation, and Emergency Response Overview covering the systems in place at Cyanco.

Library Summer Reading Program: There's still time to 'Dream Big and Read'

WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County Library's "Summer Reading Program" might be halfway over but organizers say there's still plenty of time to "Dream Big and Read."The program kicked off June 8 and will wind down with a final Awards Party on Aug. 3. "But we still have well over a month and we invite all our local youth to join with us and read," said Humboldt County Children's Librarian Jessica Carver.
