City awards bid for annual chip seal project after sorting out issues

WINNEMUCCA - The city awarded a bid to Intermountain Slurry Seal for its annual chip seal project at last week's city council meeting. The city's portion of the cost is $533,246.50 and the county's portion is $145,476.80 for a total project cost of $678,723.30.

Judge says it's too late for restitution in case

WINNEMUCCA - Prosecutors asked for over $12,000 in restitution in Sixth Judicial District Court last week after the defendant in the case, Steven Wayne Wilson, was sentenced to probation on May 24 for attempted battery with substantial bodily harm.

Gov. Guinn Millennium Scholarship program good through at least 2018
