Community Garden prepares for another season

Volunteers needed for cleanup day April 20

WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca Community Garden will hold a cleanup day on Saturday, April 20, from 1- 4 p.m. at the garden. The Community Garden is located at 151 McArthur Ave., across from Sonoma Elementary. 

Minor injuries in rollover -

STEVE LYON • The Humboldt SunA California driver traveling east on West Winnemucca Boulevard near Interstate 80 exit 176 rolled his pickup truck Wednesday afternoon into the median, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Johnny Peoples. Peoples said that the driver fell asleep, hit several paddle markers and a sign post, and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over. The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. and Winnemucca police officers and Humboldt General Hospital EMS also responded to the scene. Peoples said that the driver was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Blood disorder clinic scheduled in Winnemucca April 18

WINNEMUCCA - The Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) of Nevada will hold a special clinic in Winnemucca on April 18 for those affected by inherited bleeding and clotting disorders and those who suffer with easy bruising, frequent nosebleeds or heavy periods.
