This location is approximately 125 miles northwest of Winnemucca and 15 miles southeast of the Oregon state line.

Preliminary investigation determined that a blue Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on SR140. A white Hyundai Tucson was traveling northbound on SR140 when it struck the rear of the F-150 and both passengers from the F-150 who were standing behind the truck. The front of the Hyundai became wedged under the rear of the F-150 and both vehicles came to rest in the northbound travel lane facing west.

Tragically, both passengers of the F-150 sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. They were identified as 61-year-old Glen Meyers of Sun Valley, Nevada and 52-year-old Kevin Austin of Riverdale, Utah. The driver of the F-150 did not sustain any injuries.
