BLM approves continued mining at Ruby Hill

BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management today approved expanding gold mining operations for up to an additional eight years at the open-pit Ruby Hill Mine in Eureka County.

With this approval, Ruby Hill Mining Company, LLC, is authorized to build additional facilities on private lands and expand operations into additional subsurface federal mineral estate within existing approved boundaries. This approval does not include any modifications to currently undisturbed surface public lands.

“We considered the updated expansion plans and made a fact-based decision to proceed,” said Mount Lewis Field Manager Sam Ault. “This approval will support an additional 110 jobs in Eureka County over the life of the mine.”
