The characters from Alice in Wonderland will come to life this Thursday and Friday at the high school auditorium when Lovelock Elementary School presents “The Trials of Alice in Wonderland.”
The cast of the LES school play poses for a group photo.
Twenty-nine third through fifth-grade students have rehearsed their parts for two months. Tryouts were before Christmas break and they started learning the songs and dances when school resumed. Their dedication showed at their dress rehearsal earlier this week.
Titan Rhodes (the Cheshire Cat), Andrea Lozano (the Caterpillar), Lorenzo Hernandez (the White Rabbit) and Kelti Dragoman (the Cheshire Cat) take a bow.
The young actors sing, dance and perform confidently. The sets, costumes and choreography are stunning.
In this adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic, Alice is on trial for growing and changing.
Michael Jensen (Tweedledum) and Masey Brooks (Tweedledee) share a snack.
William Brooke adapted Carroll’s story about Alice, the girl who went through the looking glass and down the rabbit hole to discover that, far from being a crime, growing and changing is part of life.
Madison Shields (Alice) and Aubrey Canchola (Little Alice) perform a routine.
As hard as the actors and their mentors have worked, the real crime would be to miss this show. It starts at 7 p.m. on both nights with the auditorium doors opening at 6:30.
