The Winnemucca 8-10-year-old all star team played two of the most competitive games at the Nevada Little League District 3 Tournament in Winnemucca last week.
However, the host team suffered two heartbreaking losses.
In its opening game on Wednesday, June 18, Winnemucca lost 7-6 to Silverada (Dayton).

Winnemucca held at 5-1 advantage after the top of the fourth inning, when Silverada scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The Dayton area squad won the game with two runs in the sixth inning.
On June 19, Winnemucca had to rally against Lovelock after falling behind 9-2 after just two innings of play.

Winnemucca scored three runs apiece in the third and fourth innings and four more in the fifth to tie the game at 12.
Lovelock scored the two winning runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
