Jensen moved youth baseball to Little League this spring, as a way to get the kids more game time and experience on the field.
In its Little League all-star debut in Winnemucca the Lovelock 8-10-year-olds picked up one win in three games at the District 3 Tournament last week in Winnemucca.
In the opening game on June 17, Lovelock played well for three innings, when Elko pulled away for a 12-2 win.

In a back-and-forth battle on June 19, Lovelock got the best on host Winnemucca 14-12. Their tournament ended on June 20 with a 16-6 loss to High Desert (Fernley).
These boys represented our community very well,” Jensen said. “They improved drastically this season and really proved to us moving back to Little League was the right move. This is just the beginning for Lovelock youth baseball. We are really excited to continue to watch baseball grow in Lovelock. Congrats to Issac Salgado on winning the golden glove for the team during this tournament.”
