Heydra, Mihalic to compete at World University Games

RENO — Nevada Swimming & Diving will be represented at the 2025 FISU World University Games Summer next month, as Bailey Heydra and Sara Mihalič will compete on the international stage.

Heydra will compete in the diving competitions, representing South Africa. Individual diving events at the World University Games are scheduled for July 19-23.

The Johannesburg, South Africa, native will aim to continue her strong 2024-25 campaign.

During the collegiate diving season, Heydra medaled in all three events at Mountain West Championship, winning gold on 1-Meter Springboard and silver on both 3-Meter Springboard and Platform.

A two-time Mountain West Diver of the Week this past season, Heydra advanced to Zone E Championships where she narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships, finishing ninth on 1-meter.

Mihalič, a double medalist at this past season's Mountain West Championships, will represent Slovenia at the event.

The swimming program is set for July 17-23, and Mihalič is currently scheduled to compete in the 50-meter breaststroke (July 19), 100-meter breaststroke (July 23), 200-meter breaststroke (July 21), and 200-meter IM (July 22).

During the 2024-25 collegiate swimming season, Mihalič captured Mountain West bronze medals in the 800 free and 400 medley relays, and earned four all-conference honors (800 FR, 400 MR, 100 breast, 200 breast).
