In its opening game of the Nevada District 3 all-star tournament on Wednesday, June 18, Battle Mountain defeated White Pine 39-15 in a three-inning game.
Each team plated nine runs in the first inning that last nearly 70 minutes. Battle Mountain broke the game open with a 19-run third inning.

That turned out to be the only win for the young squad, as Ruby Mountain (Spring Creek) beat Battle Mountain 16-6.
Battle Mountain lost 18-5 to High Desert (Fernley) in an elimination game on Saturday, June 21, in cold and wet conditions.
