The Battle Mountain High School boys basketball team stayed in line in a crowded top five in the Northern 2A, with a pair of wins on its home floor this past weekend.
The Longhorns had little trouble with Fallon’s Oasis Academy, winning 75-38 on Friday night and Battle Mountain extended its win streak to four, with a 52-37 victory over Yerington on Saturday.
Battle Mountain improved to 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the Northern 2A.
West Wendover leads the league at 7-1, followed by Incline (5-1), North Tahoe (4-1) and Yerington (6-2).
Pershing County is in the sixth and final playoff spot at 5-5.
In the win over Oasis Academy, Battle Mountain was 120of-29 from the 3-point line, with sophomore Giovanni Ruvalcaba knocking down seven of those for 25 points.
Ruvalcaba added six rebounds, four assists and a steal.

Fello sophomore Brodie Smith, was 3-of-4 behind the arc and scored 18 points to go with four rebounds, four steals, three assists and a block.
Freshman Abraham Nevarez netted seven points, four rebounds and two steals and sophomore Adan Nevarez finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double, along with three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Eli Colver and Angel Guadarrama each scored four points, Lewis Strong added three and Zayne Hall and Abel Martin each had two points.
It was a physical and low-scoring scrum on Saturday afternoon, as Battle Mountain scratched out a 16-7 advantage after eight minutes of play.
The Lions erased that deficit with the first nine points of the second quarter to tie the game at 16, when the Longhorns followed with a 12-2 spurt to open another double figure lead.
Battle Mountain led by as many as 15 points in the second half, closing out the first half of the league schedule with an important victory.
Ruvalcaba and Smith each connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 16 and 11 points, respectfully.
Ruvalcaba added four rebounds and three assists and Smith grabbed nine rebounds to go with one assist, one steal and a block.
Aden Nevarez finished with a second consecutive double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds to go with five steals and four assists.
Hall netted seven points and four steals and Chase Lutz had two points.
Battle Mountain ends a six-game homestand this weekend, hosting Pershing County on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Coral Academy of Reno on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
