Domagala inducted into Nevada chapter of National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Long time wrestling coach Mitch Domagala was one of six coaches inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Nevada chapter.

Longtime Battle Mountain and Tonopah wrestling coach Mitch Domagala was one of six coaches inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Nevada chapter. 

The ceremony took place at the Silver Legacy. 

The induction was held in part with the Reno Tournament of Champions.


Mitch Domagala

Coach from 1994 to 2022 in Battle Mountain. Mitch has a Nevada record of 17 Team State Championships and four runner-up records. 

In Mitch’s coaching career he had a Dual record of 458-123-3.

He also has coached 94 Individual State Champions, 241 state placers, six High School All-Americans, and had 11 wrestlers continue to the college level.

Joe Sellers

Wrestler, Coach, pioneer and mentor. Wrestled at East Bakersfield High School and  coached at Hug  and Wooster in Reno. 

He won state champions with Wooster’s first State champion.

 Sellars founded the first youth wrestling team in Northern Nevada, and coached South Reno Wrestling for 19 years. 

He is a Charter member of the USA Sierra Wrestling Association.


Tom Bailey

Coach of 37 State champions, 52 Zone champions, and four team state championships. 

He was the first of only two Northern Nevada large schools to win the team state championship.

Bailey was a USA Wrestling National coach and coached in 12 international events.


Dennis Wells

Founded the Eureka High School wrestling team in 1991-92 and went on to win 7 state championships.

Wells was awarded Coach of the Year five times in his career. 

Four wrestlers became 4x state champions. Dennis had a powerful impact on the youth in Eureka.

He coached football, basketball, baseball and track. and had won championships in three of the sports.

GeorgeAnne Ritter

Co-founded, with husband Jim, the youth wrestling program, the Fallon Outlaws, in 1991. 

In 1991 she became the first woman USA Nevada State Chairman and remained the Chairman until 2010. GeorgeAnne received the Founders Award and was nominated to the Hall of Fame by Reno World (WOW) and was inducted into Fallon High Schools, Greenwave Hall of Fame in 2023. GeorgeAnne also received the USA Person of The Year Kids Wrestling Award in 2005.


Jim Ritter

 Co-founded, with wife GeorgeAnne, the youth wrestling program, the Fallon Outlaws, in 1991. 

Jim was the recipient of Reno Worlds (WOW) Founders Award in 2023 and the USA Person of The Year Kids Wrestling Award in 2005. Jim was also inducted into the Fallon Greenwave Hall of Fame 2023.
