After six straight games on its home floor, the Battle Mountain High School girls basketball team hit the road this past weekend for two Northern 2A contests in Fallon and Yerington.
Battle Mountain completed the season sweep of Oasis Academy on Friday with a 33-21 victory over the Bighorns.
On Saturday, Battle Mountain’s rally against Yerington fell short, with the Lions hanging on for a 41-39 win.
The Lady Longhorns sit in fourth place in the Northern 2A and 14-5 overall.
The top six teams qualify for the regional tournament at Pershing County High School in Lovelock.
North Tahoe paces the field in the Northern 2A at 12-0, followed by Yerington (12-1) and Pershing County (10-3). West Wendover (6-6) and Oasis Academy (3-7) hold the final two transfer spots.

In a low-scoring contest, Battle Mountain used its defense in the second half to pull away for the 12-point win.
The game was tied 5-5 after eight minutes of play, when the Lady Longhorns pulled away with 17-6 run in the second half, including holding the Bighorns scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore posted a double-double for Battle Mountain with 15 points and 13 rebounds to go with five steals.
Noel Hill, one of two upperclassmen on the roster added nine points, six assists, five steals and three rebounds.
Yadira Vazquez and Kamila Farias each scored four points, with Vazquez grabbing nine rebounds and senior Lindsey Bleak contributed one points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.

When Battle Mountain and Yerington played for the first time this season, the Lions pulled out a 16-point win on the Lady Longhorns’ home floor.
After the games was tied 9-9 after the first quarter, the difference on the day was the second quarter, where the Lions outscored the Lady Longhorns 15-10.
Battle Mountain did its best to overcome the seven-point deficit entering the fourth quarter but the rally just fell short.
Battle Mountain has a busy week with three games, beginning on Thursday at home against West Wendover at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Longhorns beat the Wolverines by a point in overtime at the beginning of the league schedule.
Battle Mountains travels to Silver Stage on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. tip and will be in Carson City on Saturday to play Sierra Lutheran at 2 p.m.
