The Lowry High School girls soccer team has played a match on its home field, since the last day of August.
The schedule makers did the Lady Bucks no favorites with six matches on the road in September.
That long stretch of being on the road may have had a part in Lowry’s 6-0 loss to Churchill County on Friday afternoon.
The Greenwave and Lady Bucks came into the contest first and second respectively in the Northern 3A East. That is important, as the top two seeds host a first-round playoff match.
Churchill County remained undefeated in league play and Lowry dropped to 7-2-0, suffering its worse loss of the season.
The Greenwave scored four times in the first 40 minutes of play and added a pair of goals in the second half.
Lowry’s six-match road trip ended Tuesday in Lovelock and results were not available at press time.
Lowry hosts Elko on Friday, Oct. 4, at 3:45 p.m. and Spring Creek on Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
