The Lowry High School volleyball team continued crossover play with the Northern 3A West, with a home and away match this past weekend.

Lowry hosted Truckee this past Friday night and the perennial power defeated the Lady Bucks in three sets 25-12, 26-24 and 25-6.

Lowry hit the road to Reno on Saturday morning to take on North Valleys. The Panthers beat the Lady Bucks earlier in the season at the Yerington tournament.

Lowry avenged that loss, sweeping North Valleys 25-23, 25-17, 25-23 to improve to 5-5 overall. The Lady Bucks are 2-1 in crossover play, but those results do not count toward the league standings.

Lowry concludes crossover play this weekend in Reno, playing Wooster on Friday at 6 p.m. and Hug on Saturday at noon.

Northern 3A play for the Lady Bucks start at home on Friday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. against Spring Creek. Elko visits Winnemucca on Saturday, Sept. 21, for a noon start.

The top four teams out of the six-team Northern 3A East advance to the regional tournament, that will be held at hosts sites in the first round, with the semifinals and finals at Churchill County High School in Fallon.
