Project Santa returns for its 12th year to brighten the holidays

The Frontier Community Coalition, Lowry High School Junior Class, and Christmas Cops have announced the return of the 12th annual Project Santa program, aiming to bring holiday cheer to families in need throughout Humboldt County. Over the years, the program has grown significantly, supporting more than 400 children and their families through gift distribution and resource outreach.

With this year’s expansion, organizers are inviting community members to get involved as sponsors. Those interested in sponsoring a child or family can call or email the program to receive a child’s wish list. Gifts must be dropped off at the Frontier Community Coalition or Les Schwab by Thursday, Dec. 5. Monetary donations are also welcomed to fill unsponsored wish lists and provide special items for children with specific needs, ensuring every participant receives a meaningful Christmas gift.

The Christmas Cops will host a toy drive on Saturday, Dec. 7, outside Walmart, giving another opportunity for community members to donate. Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist at Santa’s workshop from Dec. 10 to Dec. 12, where gifts will be wrapped and sorted for distribution.

Those who cannot participate directly are encouraged to spread the word about the program by sharing the Virtual Angel Tree page through social media. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Frontier Community Coalition also notes that all donations are tax-deductible.

For more information about sponsoring, donating, or volunteering, the community is invited to call the coalition’s office at (775) 374-5638 or email ProjectSanta@fcaanv.com.
