The Lowry High School girls soccer team is headed back to the postseason for the second consecutive year.

The only question that remains is where the opening round game will be played.

The Lady Bucks collected three wins in Northern 3A East action last weekend, beginning with a 9-0 victory at Battle Mountain on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Lowry moved its home match with Dayton on Thursday, Oct. 17, to Jerry Tobin Field, as the Lady Bucks played under the lights for senior night and won 9-1.

Lowry completed the perfect week with a 3-0 win over Fernley on Saturday.

The Lady Bucks improved to 14-6-1 overall and 14-2-1 in league play.

Lowry’s regular season finale against league-leading Churchill County has been switched to Thursday at 1:45 p.m.

Lowry needs to knock off undefeated Churchill County and Elko to lose one of its five remaining matches.

The Lady Bucks could be looking at Truckee or North Valleys in the opening round of the Northern 3A Regional Championships.

In the win over Battle Mountain, Lowry netted six goals in the first 40 minutes of play and end the match early in the second half with three more goals.

Natalya Guizar and Britain Backus each posted hat tricks, with three goals apiece. Backus also added an assist. Ava Swensen contributed a goal and two assists and Cleo Fowler came out of her usual goalkeeper spot and scored a goal and assisted on another.

Kepa Hilbish added a goal and Elyza Sirotek had two assists and Nevaeh Gerhard had one assist.

After heavy rain departed in the morning, the coldest weather of the season greeted Lowry and Dayton on Thursday night. The weather didn’t bother Lowry, who scored four goals in a 15-minute stretch in the first half to lead 5-0 at halftime.

Maura Braatz put the Lady Bucks on the board in the seventh minute of pass from Backus and one minute later, Guizar headed a goal in off an assist from Backus. In the 19th minute, Guizar put her second goal in the back of the net off another assist from Backus.

Backus was done with the assists and did her damage with three consecutive goals, including the first of the second half to make the score 6-0.

The advantage increased to 7-0 after a 25-yard shot by Maite Avalos in the 51st minute. Dayton quickly answered with a goal a minute later on a breakaway opportunity, but Backus and Hilbish added goals in the 56th and 60th minutes.
