WINNEMUCCA — The Bureau of Land Management is announcing it has completed the Final Environmental Assessment for the proposed Dutch Flat Exploration Project in Humboldt County.
Osgood Mountains Gold, LLC, proposes to assess gold mining potential across more than 4,000 public and private acres, with an estimated surface disturbance of approximately 110 acres, with 76 of those on public lands.
If approved, the project would include construction and maintenance of new and existing exploration roads; a meteorological station; 30 drill sites on public lands; geotechnical test pits and trenches; and potential installation and operation of groundwater monitoring, production, and hydrogeologic characterization test wells. Reclamation of surface disturbances would occur at the end of the project.
“We appreciate the public’s input on the proposed project during the public comment period, which helped inform our analysis and decision,” said Humboldt River Field Office Manager John Mitchell. “The BLM has now concluded its review process and will issue a decision on this mineral exploration project in the near future.”
