The Battle Mountain High School volleyball team closed out its home portion of the schedule with two Northern 2A matches this past weekend.
Battle Mountain took on league-leading and undefeated Pershing County on Friday and lost in three sets 25-14, 25-14, 25-23.
Battle Mountain bounced back on senior day on Saturday with a three-set sweep of Coral Academy 25-19, 25-17, 25-23.

The Falcons beat the Longhorns in four sets earlier in the season in Reno.
Battle Mountain sits at 8-9 in the Northern 2A, with one regular season match to play on Thursday in West Wendover at 5 p.m.
“The girls rallied well this weekend against our teams,” said BMHS coach Julia Ramirez. “Pershing brings their own level of offense that we love seeing. We are working on adjusting our defense and working on our mindsets. We look forward to playing West Wendover this week as well.”
Against Pershing County, Addison Mattheus had a team-high five kills to go with a block, while Thalia Gonzalez added four kills and Emilie Johnson had three kills and a block. Noel Hill collected a pair of kills and Alissa Heinz had one.
The Longhorns collected eight aces on the night, including three each from Alexis Rangel and Johnson and two from Hill.
Lindsey Bleak finished with a team-high 21 digs, with Andrea Alcaraz-Lopez and Matheus each having five digs.
Jazmin Johnson added 10 assists and Heinz had six assists.
Battle Mountain knocked down 28 kills on Saturday in the match against Coral Academy, including seven from Emilie Johnson, five by Matheus and four from Halie Edgar. Gonzalez contributed three kills and Hill, Bleak, Rangel and Heinz finished with two each.
Gonzalez and Emilie Johnson added four and three aces, respectively and Matheus had two blocks. Heinz and Jazmin Johnson had 16 and 11 assists and Bleak finished with 17 digs.
