Battle Mountain bounces back with win over Yerington

The Battle Mountain High School football team bounced back with a 27-22 win over Yerington on Friday night in Yerington,

The victory kept the Longhorns in third-place in the Northern 2A at 3-1.

Pershing County and Incline are tied for first place at 3-0.

However, those two teams will not play this year.

The scheduled contest earlier this fall was canceled due to the Davis Fire in Reno and Mt. Rose.

If both teams finish undefeated in the Northern 2A, the winner will be determined by a point tiebreaker.

Battle Mountain travels to Reno on Saturday to play Coral Academy at 2:30 p.m.

The home finale is set for Thursday, Oct. 24, against Pershing County at 7 p.m.

The Longhorns travel to West Wendover on Nov. 1, for the regular season finale with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
