Nevaeh Serna and West Reiva of the Battle Mountain NNA swim team were in Roseville Calif., from Oct. 4-6, for the CCA Spook-Tacular at the Roseville Aquatic Center.
Conditions were tough with temperatures over 100 degrees.
Reiva’s class 11-12 averaged 80 entries per event and same for Serna’s 13-24 class 80 per event both had great time improvements.
Serna best finish of the weekend was third in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2 minutes, 21.11 seconds to go with a fourth-place outing in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:06.21.
That was a 3.33 second improvement. The young swimmer placed seventh in the 400-yard individual medley, stopping the clock at 5:30.76 and she chopped off over 11 seconds in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:28.11 to place ninth.

Serna posted personal-best times in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.37) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:13.28) to place 11th and 13th, respectively.
Serna finished 19th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.55.
Reiva improved his time in a number of events and finished 14th in the 200-yard individual medley at 3:08.87.
He took off nearly 14 seconds in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:33.33 to place 15th. He was another 12 seconds quicker in the 100-yard butterfly to finish 15th at 1:32.53.
Reiva finished 18th in the 50-yard backstroke (40:47), 26th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:12.09) and 27th in the 50-yard butterfly (41.35).
The butterfly was a 3.66 second improvement.
The next wee scheduled id the King of the Hill Challenge at the new Moana aquatic center in Reno.
